Our Beginnings

We decided to start a kebab restaurant, using the authentic Afghan recipes. Our first location was 300-square-foot site in the food court in Springfield Mall. It was very hard to keep up with the demand with such limited space, so we opened up a second location in the main food court. Beginning in busy food courts in local malls, we quickly grew to 14 locations. Eventually, we expanded to include stand-alone restaurants. Today, Grill Kabob is one of the largest kebab chains in the United States.

This place is definitely my favorite spot to eat due to the fact that they serve very delicious food and good portions that fill you up with a smile! I'm so glad it’s so close to where I live I can just walk there. If you like Middle Eastern food you should definitely give this place a try. I promise you won’t regret it.

There are many Kabob places in Herndon and Reston area but non compare to this place. I am a customer since 2018 and was never let down. The kabobs are very fresh and tasty. The meat quality is really good compared to other places. Overall, the food portions are really good. I especially love lamb chops and chicken Kobida. Honestly, all Kabobs are just so good. I order on combo meal and eat it in two days because the portions are big. Very reasonable price for great quality and tasty meal. My American friend tried it once and she really liked it too.

My wife and I ate lunch here this week. Good food, large enough portions that we were able to have enough for another meal a day or two days after. She had the chicken kabob and I had the falafel plate. I was surprised to see the fried chickpeas as pancakes rather than small balls. We'd return for another meal.

Ordered the kubideh & chicken combo and the salmon kabob. Both were absolutely amazing. The kubideh was blended with peppers and onions with plenty of flavors. The salmon was incredibly juicy, perfectly flaky, and well-spiced without overwhelming the flavor of the fish. The green chutney was sharpy and spicy and citrus, amazing with everything. Our two year old ate from our plates happily. We'll be ordering again.

If you haven't been to Grill Kabob in a while, I'd say try it again. I hadn't been in about 6 months and the other day, I went with a friend and we both agreed the food had improved. I asked if they hired a new chef and they confirmed this is the case. Larger portions, less salty, better taste, and higher quality than before!
